Gemma Correll
I love Gemma Correll's work, which I came across on society6. (Great site where you can play Curator!) I'm in especially in love with her "What I wore today"-Series. She also has a Blog called "What I wore today... in Drawings" where she posts peoples illustrations of what they wore. Personally I love the idea of drawing what you wore, it's so much better than a photo. I'm also in love with Gemma's "Diaries"-Series. It's just so much fun to read them and I hope she will continue them on a regular basis. See more of her prints on society6. us

Dreaming...
I really haven't slept a full night in ages. Okay, I'm a little exaggerating here. It's maybe been a week or so but it sure feels like ages. Don't really know why, but every morning I wake up even more tired than I was when I went to bed the night before. I always dream strange things...I mean really strange stuff like one night I chased horses and was decorating a room and was making out with some king of some country which was basically an island surrounded by a small moat in some park. I know what you're thinkin' but no I'm not crazy! The other night I dreamed about speaking Spanish so bad that I actually woke up because of it. Weird! Today I came across this great video by Oren Lavie and I can't help wondering if I look like this when I am sleeping/dreaming?! Would definitely explain some things. us
"get off the Cross, we need the Wood for Fire"
Good radio stations are treasures and unfortunately hard to find and if found usually somewhere outta reach of my poor little radio alarm. But waking up with Lady Gaga at least kicks me outta bed - if only to silence the radio alarm with a harsh movement the poor thing does not deserve.Thank God there is livestreaming! Thank God I can listen to my all-time favourite radio station, Austrias fm4 again! They play the good stuff, and in the morning, the program is in English which is soothing to hear if you can't stand the Austrian accent in the early morning.
Listening to fm4 is a bit like browsing through a massive excellent op shop: real treasures among wrong sizes and sometimes awkward colors.
Today, they played one of those treasures: firewater. It may be trendy to go for oriental folk elements mixed with Jazz and Ska, but these guys come across very authentic and unique. And they are playing Viennas Ost Klub tonight, which is a pretty cool venue. Plus, entiteling your first album "get off the Cross, we need the Wood for Fire" shows a great deal of blasphemy, which is always a plus in my opinion.

Beim surfen durchs Netz bin ich letztens auf das Museum der Dinge in Berlin gestoßen. Für jemanden wie mich, der Krimskrams, Kitsch und schräge Dinge liebt, also perfekt. Das Museum der Dinge hat alles mögliche zu bieten, vom Pfeffersteuer in Hasenform bis zum alten Fernseher, Kerzenleuchter, Hammer über Wachsbüsten, Staubwedel bis hin zur Kugelwaschmaschine. Zusätzlich gibt es jeden Monat das "Ding des Monats", welches zurzeit ein ziemlich cooles Paar Obama-Kindersneakers ist (s. Foto). Und dann gibt es da auch noch die Museumswundertüten, die man aus einem Automaten ziehen kann. So eine Tüte beinhaltet mehrere Kleinigkeiten, ein Kommentar und was Süßes, sozusagen das Ü-Ei für's Museum. Super Idee, oder? Was es mir aber vor allem angetan hat, sind die Pflegschaften, die man übernehmen kann. Wenn man möchte kann man sich eines bestimmten Dinges annehmen und symbolisch sozusagen dessen "Dingpfleger" für ein Jahr werden. Ich überlege ernsthaft, ob ich nicht so eine Pflegschaft übernehmen soll. Hab da auch schon so meine Favoriten. Mal sehen. Welches würdet ihr denn pflegen wollen? us
